Email marketing has an ROI of $42 for every $1 spent, or 4200%. This makes email marketing one of the best marketing channels. According to a study by Campaign Monitor, 30% of marketers say email marketing has the highest ROI.
You might think creating an email blast is easy, but you need several essential things to make the email blast effective. See a sample design from Geek!
Subject Line
According to data by Invesp, as many as 47% of recipients click on an email based on the subject line. At the same time, 69% of subscribers judge an email to be spam based on, you guessed it, the subject line.
So, the creation of the subject line is significant. I suggest spending time on research, but keep it short! Shortening is often better for many recipients, especially those reading your emails on mobile devices. A suggestion is no more than nine words and 60 characters. Save a few characters for an emoji to grab more attention.
A/B Testing
A/B Testing is also essential for the subject line. Write two subject lines and send both to see which ones get more open rates. It’s a perfect way to learn what works for next time.
Email Design
One of the things I look for in an email blast is a well-balanced email design. I love a nice opening image with the company logo near the top. Different font sizes with colors also help with easy reading. I always throw multiple calls-to-action buttons throughout the design—one button near the top and one near the bottom of the email bear footer. Ensure you have various hyperlinks throughout the email to drive traffic to the company website. Words and images can be linked. Make sure to test that your links are working correctly, too.
Email List
Just as important as it is to craft the email blast, the list is crucial, too. Do you have opted-in subscribers? Where did the list come from? Make sure the list is not going to generate spam.
Schedule Email
What day and time of day does matter when you schedule your email blast? The best practice is Tuesday- Thursday at 6 a.m. or 9 a.m. will have the best open rates. Monday and Friday are the worst days to send out an email blast for B2B companies.
Now that you have crafted your email blast export your open rate click-through rate results and do a follow-up.
