What is Workday?

Workday is a leading provider of enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, helping customers adapt and thrive in a changing world. Workday applications for financial management, human resources, planning, spend management, and analytics are built with artificial intelligence and machine learning at the core to help organizations around the world embrace the future of work. Workday is used by more than 10,000 organizations around the world and across industries – from medium-sized businesses to more than 50% of the Fortune 500.

Let’s jump into the creative part of laying out this report.

I delivered two mood boards to Corner Office Consultants. They choose the wave design featuring water droplets and all images featured a yellow object in the photos to match their branding. Their audience is young and hip IT and cloud-based gurus, so the look and feel had to be fun and capture that audience in the imagery. This year’s guide also combined USA and Canada in one report.

I incorporated the waves throughout the design and developed a changing tides icon to highlight previous report numbers. I fell in love with the vintage wave subtle background overlays that are throughout in the report in yellow, blue and grays.

This report is made mostly of chart and infographics. To say the least that was a struggle to come up with creative ways to tell the numbers visually. Page 7 is one of my favorite pages that showcases a circle infographic. In the compensation table section that had to be able to read in sections by regions and by salary averages. I played with few ways to show jump quotes from top-ranking industry experts and users of Workday that took the survey report. All in all, this project took about 3 weeks to create with edit rounds.

Launching a 56-page report wasn’t easy and is a very detailed project to take on. But I rode the wave on this one.
